Back From Behind Enemy Lines
Revenge lingers in the air for the weekend
So we’ve all heard by now that our beloved Red Sox got a less then welcoming reception in New York (with the exception of JD Drew who the Yankees would love to have*). That’s not a big surprise–we all knew it was coming. So why is Papelbon so mad you ask (PTI Guys)? Because the Yankees fan threatened the guys wife. And if Denzel Washington taught us anything in American Gangster…You do not go after a man’s defenseless wife. Especially a pregnant one. Go after the guy for the arguable Mariano comment. But leave his family out of it.
So what’s Papelbon to do?
Well first of all he has to stop showing so much emotion about it. I understand that he should be mad–I said it above. But he needs to be Arnold Schwarzenegger in ‘Commando’ mad. Calm, cool, collective and bent on revenge (In Game of course). Showing emotions are only going to further excite the breed of creatures (people?) known as New York Yankees fans…it will only feed them…and they multiply when they are fed like Gremlins.
