New Site Design & Consistent Content - 7/4/08

On July 4th we are going to declare independence from our shitty site design and our ADD riddled posting schedule.  New Design, better consistent stuff.

So to the 64 returning visitors that we have (yes, sad..I know) hang in there.

Hot CNN News Reporter Involved in Steamy Love Triangle

O.K. so it is the same publication that feels that need to constantly report on UFO abductions…but in this case I want to believe them.  Laura Logan is hot!

CBS’ Lara Logan was involved in a Baghdad love triangle with a married US State Department contractor and CNN international correspondent Michael Ware, the New York Post reports.

This week’s National Enquirer reported the news of Logan’s Baghdad sex life, and implicated her as the cause of the State Department contractor’s divorce. And while it named the contractor — Joe Burkett — it only described Ware as a “star CNN correspondent.

Choke: Kobe Bryant Is No Michael Jordan

In fact yesterday we saw that he is even further away then some thought.  I can sooner imagine the Duke Blue Devils winning an NBA championship (yes, i know) then imagine Michael Jordan blowing a lead that big in the NBA finals.   Kobe Bryant was shut down in the fourth quarter by Paul Pierce…a guy who doesn’t get enough credit in this league.  Paul Pierce plays at Kobe Bryant’s level…he just doesn’t have the swagger that Kobe Bryant carries with him on the court.  A swagger that Kobe stole from Michael Jordan.

Note to Kobe: Wearing out “Come Fly With Me” VHS tapes at 9 years old doesn’t make you Michael Jordan.  And allowing your team to blow a 24 point lead just further proves that point.

Super Bowl XLII - New England Gets Last Laugh

“Highly skilled thieves” broke into a jewelery store in Attleboro Massachusetts and swiped $2 million worth of jewelry. Included in that $2 million dollar haul were Super Bowl rings meant for the luckiest football team on the face of this planet….the New York Giants.

The only downside to this story is that the rings weren’t going to the players themselves…they were for staff.

How long before these things start popping up on eBay?  I’ll take 60.  Give the Patriots back what was rightfully theirs.

ATTLEBORO - Master thieves operating with military-like precision broke into a city jewelry company, stealing up to $2 million in gold, diamonds and jewelry - including New York Giants Super Bowl rings - in one of the largest heists in Attleboro history.

The burglary occurred sometime over the weekend at E.A. Dion at 33 Franklin McKay Drive, and is under investigation by city police detectives.

The perpetrators disabled the building’s alarm system, cut a hole in the roof and made off with a safe that weighed at least 1,000 pounds, police said.

The burglary was discovered Sunday by an employee. Police say there are no immediate suspects.

Police Capt. David Proia Tuesday declined to comment extensively on the heist, other than to say detectives were pursuing the investigation.

“They are actively investigating this,” Proia said.

“Whoever did this knew what they were doing,” he acknowledged.

An employee discovered the burglary Sunday after she was unable to access her work e-mail from home, apparently because the Dion phone lines were cut by the thieves when they disconnected the alarm system.

Police say the heist is believed to have occurred sometime since Saturday.

Detectives Richard Campion and James Cote are leading the investigation and took evidence from the scene with the assistance of state police.

Police officers Raymond Russas, John Hynes and Timothy Cook Jr. also assisted.

Company President Edward “Ted” Dion Jr. said Tuesday the company is cooperating with investigators, adding that the break-in was “unpleasant” but only briefly hampered operations.

“The good news is that we’re back up and running,” Dion said. “We’re mainly focused on supplying our customers as we normally do.”

When asked about how deliveries would be affected, such as the Super Bowl rings, Dion said, “I’m not going to discuss specifics. Our biggest customers understand we’ve run into a bit of a hiccup.”

He complimented his employees and said “everybody is positive.”

While many jewelry manufacturers in the city have either moved or gone out of business, the family-owned E.A. Dion company is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, in part by transforming its business.

With origins as an advertising and promotional specialties company, Dion now designs, makes or markets a wide variety of products from high-dollar corporate and commemorative rings to recognition products.

Is Scott Storch Broke?

Well Ladies and Gentlemen Scott Storch appears to be broke. According to news out of Miami-Dade Scott Storch is wanted on Tax and Child Support problems. The cops are looking for him and have no clue of his whereabouts. Think he ran back to Canada?

You may not recognize the face or the name but you surely know his music. He has a pretty lengthy discography and I pretty much guarantee you’ve caught your little sister whistling one of his shitty generic beats. Unlike most producers Scott Storch does not have a unique sound. He pretty much produces whatever for whoever is hot at the moment. So wack.

Sure he’s supposedly banged the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Lil’ Kim.  But besides us who hasn’t?

Storch would like us to believe that he was worth somewhere in the low 9 figures. Forbes put an end to that when they released their estimate at $17 million.

So let’s take a quick look on how someone worth $17 million can go broke. Keep in mind that Storch also owns a $10 Million Dollar Miami mansion.

Let’s add up what we just saw in that video

Lamborghini - $275,000

Mercedes - $500,000

Rolls-Royce - $740,000

Buggati - $1,200,000

Ferrari - $290,000

Bentley - $150,000

Total - 3.1 Million in Cars

And that’s just the cars that were shown in the foreground and featured in the video.  So that’s $10 Million on a home and $3 million on cars. That only leaves him $4 million for bottles of Cristal, hoes, chin chillas, and jewelry for you and your entourage. That’s not nearly enough money.

Scott Storch is broke. Haters Rejoice. I’ll leave you with this last video in which Scott brags about his riches. He was a little upset at Timbaland after he played the piano on “Cry Me A River” and Justin Timberlake didn’t shout him out.

Putting This Picture Into Context

Via The Boston Herald

Now if you ask us, a gal might want to think twice before going to Kobe Bryant’s hotel room, but intrepid manicurist Donna Nieves went to do some manscaping on the Lakers’ big gun in his suite at the Four Seasons hotel in Boston last Friday night because that’s her job.

“I never say no to a client,” said Nieves, who was sent over from Salon Mario Russo on Newbury Street to give Kobe a manicure and pedicure between Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals.

Donna reports that Bryant was an overall gentleman while she did his grooming, although No. 24 didn’t want to discuss the Celtics [team stats] - or for that matter the Patriots [team stats]!

“There was just some small talk back and forth,” she said. “But at one point he said to me, ‘I don’t want no talk of the Patriots from you!”’

No worries - Donna says she’s not exactly a sports fan.

She added that Bryant was just chillin’ in his suite when she arrived and some of his teammates and pals were floating in and out while he had his treatments. He had the movie “21” on while she worked on him.

Kobe is, of course, not the only mani-pedi fan in the NBA Finals. Glen “Big Baby” Davis is on record extolling the virutes of soft hands and well-trimmed nails for today’s on-the-court metrosexuals!

Curt Schilling unloads on Kobe Bryant

From Curt Schillings Blog 38 Pitches

Kobe. This one stunned me a little bit. Who doesn’t know Kobe Bryant right? I only know what I have heard, starting awhile back with the entire Shaq debacle. I don’t really have an opinion one way or the other on or about him other than to know that people feel he might be one of the 4-5 greatest players to ever lace it up. What I do know is what I got to see up close and hear, was unexpected. From the first tip until about 4 minutes left in the game I saw and heard this guy bitch at his teammates. Every TO he came to the bench pissed, and a few of them he went to other guys and yelled about something they weren’t doing, or something they did wrong. No dialog about “hey let’s go, let’s get after it” or whatever. He spent the better part of 3.5 quarters pissed off and ranting at the non-execution or lack of, of his team. Then when they made what almost was a historic run in the 4th, during a TO, he got down on the floor and basically said ‘Let’s f’ing go, right now, right here” or something to that affect. I am not making this observation in a good or bad way, I have no idea how the guys in the NBA play or do things like this, but I thought it was a fascinating bit of insight for me to watch someone in another sport who is in the position of a team leader and how he interacted with his team and teammates. Watching the other 11 guys, every time out it was high fives and “Hey nice work, let’s get after it” or something to that affect. He walked off the floor, obligatory skin contact on the high five, and sat on the bench stone faced or pissed off, the whole game. Just weird to see another sport and how it all works. I would assume that’s his style and how he plays and what works for him because when I saw the leader board for scoring in the post season his name sat up top at 31+ a game, can’t argue with that. But as a fan I was watching the whole thing, Kobe, his teammates and then the after effects of conversations. He’d yell at someone, make a point, or send a message, turn and walk away, and more than once the person on the other end would roll eyes or give a ‘whatever dude’ look.

The Most Controversial Video To Come Out Of New England

Arguably.  Some would say the spy gate tapes.

Matt Cassel, Kyle Eckel, Ray Ventrone, and Wes Welker

Wes Welker does that leg kick out dance all too well.
